Annual Scenes and Songs Night: January 14 -15, 2022

Welcome back to in-person Scenes and Songs Night this January!

If you would like to join us, please email Kate Mahoney HERE to sign up. The deadline this year is Wednesday, December 1. We don’t need to know your full information at this time; please just indicate whether you plan to do a scene or song and whom your participants will be.

PLEASE NOTE: All Scenes and Songs Night participants, whether onstage or offstage, must be fully vaccinated against COVID19, and will need to show proof of vaccination (either your vaccination card or a copy/photo).

Show Dates: Friday and Saturday, January 14 and 15 (with a dress rehearsal on Thursday, January 13)

Please put those dates on your calendars. You MUST be available all three nights to participate. Scenes should be no longer than 10 minutes; please respect this time limit so that we can get as many scenes and songs into the program as possible. We may ask participants to choose only one favorite scene or song; that will depend on how much of a response we get by our deadline of December 1.

For those of you who are new to Scene Night, it’s an evening of memorized scenes using minimal props and set pieces, no costumes or sound cues, minimal lighting (lights up, lights down). You can choose a role within your comfort zone, or maybe think outside the box and pick scenes and characters not usually open to you (gender swaps, etc.)

We can provide you with rehearsal space at the theater, and suggest a Vokes director if you like, but if you prefer to work without a director, that's fine, too. We will have a musical accompanist for the performers doing musical numbers. You will need to provide sheet music in advance.

We really look forward to being back at the theater together, and we hope you’ll join us for another weekend of scenes and songs.
