You’re an older woman, widowed, estranged from your family, having lost your sense of taste, living in a care facility. You just want to be left alone, right? Well, that’s not what’s in store for Abby in David Lindsay-Abaire’s bristlingly funny Ripcord. Until now, Abby has been able to keep her double room to herself by being horrible to her roommates and driving them out. Unfortunately for Abby, her new roommate doesn’t take things personally. Marilyn has a sunny disposition and a great relationship with her kids, and loves being with people, even Abby. The two are worse than oil and water and things will not stand as they are. It seems that Abby will do whatever it takes to get things back to the way she had them; how far will she go? The laughs come unexpectedly and sometimes uncomfortably—but they are non-stop.
